OPEN 7 DAYS! Monday through Sunday | 11:30 am to 9:00 pm
HI, AND THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING ANTONIO'S TODAY!
WHAT'S NEW WITH THE FAMILY!
Hi, and thank you for choosingAntonio’s today!
With the beginning of the New Year, it’s probably a good time to consider where we’ve been, where we are and where we’re going.
My Mom and Dad opened Antonio’s on June 28th, 1964 and I am proud that we will be escorting the restaurant into its 61st year of continuous operation. In a market segment that up to 80% go out of business within 720 Days, this is all but unheard of. In fact, we are one of the oldest restaurants in Hartford County. In a group of less than 6 restaurants to survive this long in the entire state of Connecticut; and a group of less than 1,000 restaurants in the entire United States. In a word, I’m proud of the opportunity that the people of Simsbury & Granby have afforded us. We will forever be grateful, (not that I’m going anywhere).
Okay, that’s where we’ve been, now as to where we are and where we’re going. Well, I figure we’ll stay with the same formula my mom and dad started with. They learned it from both sets of my grandparents, when they immigrated to this marvelous country. Both my parents and grandparents started as salad makers and dishwashers; then they worked their way up to owners: I followed this same path and, on the way, learned my appreciation for hard work and our families “not-so-secret” formula.
This “not-so-secret” formula is to serve satisfying food at a good price with cordial service. I sincerely hope you will always find this to be true here at Antonio’s.
As for the more distant future; with my kids still in school; who knows where their own paths will lead them? As long as my restaurant family will be here, by my side, and the community allows; we will continue to be a proud part of our community. Hey, who else is going to carry on the Cabbage Night tradition?!
Well, that’s about all the room I have for this week’s note, but I am always so appreciative for the support we receive. We consciously try to support our local farms and purveyors in every way we can. Thank you for “keeping it local” and thank you for turning my dream, into a reality.
Sincerely, Steven Antonio
